Peatland Restoration Scotland is committed to becoming a leading peatland restoration contractor in the battle to restore 600,000 ha of peatland by 2030. We have a team of highly skilled machine operators who have great experience in restoring degraded peatlands.
That combined with brand new, low ground pressure excavators we are fully kitted out to tackle any peatland restoration site thrown at us. We provide a bespoke contracting service engaging constantly with the landowner and developer to make sure the project meets all expectations and needs.
Throughout the project we constantly use high quality drones to monitor and photograph the progress which we are making. By the end of each project, we will have collated some fantastic images showing the transformation of the peatland from pre-restoration to post-restoration.
PRS have invested significantly in specialist peatland restoration machinery including numerous low ground pressure excavators, tracked dumpers and ATVs.
Bespoke training has also given our operators ecological and hydrological insight into the restoration plans and what is going to be achieved by the work which they are carrying out. It has also allowed our operators to ‘read the ground’ which they will be working on and efficiently use the different techniques to restore the peatland to the highest possible standard. PRS are constantly looking to partner with peatland developers and different estates to become a key contractor in the effort of restoring Scotland’s degraded peatlands. We know that we have a vital role to play in the climate and biodiversity crisis, which we are in, and excited at what the future holds.
